Read Will’s comments to begin with. Then follow the link to Mark’s presentation - wish I’d been there.

I like that term because it is exactly what I have running around in my head presently. This week I found myself thinking “oh, no not school, my teaching with that history text book is so boring! why can’t we do something more interesting with web 2.o stuff???” One reason being we’re all locked into the end of year assessment cycle, we’re all weary, and the sun is calling us all to the beachside!! So I think ahead to the 2008 school year & plot and plan for where I can change my classes at the beginning of a new school year. This presentation caught my eye this morning & its one I’ll consider sharing at the next whole school staff meeting.

This looks interesting as well; I wonder how we can run it in Stage 4 or Stage 5?

The course is listed as Special Topics in Computer Applications

 Course Description:

This course will afford students the ability to evaluate, critically think about, research, identify and use emerging technologies in an attempt to better understand how emerging technologies affect our lives, our professions and our society. We will look at how past technologies shape future endeavors, how the market place drives where consumer and enterprise technologies progress, and how the very users of the technology can take the greatest advantage of it. We will explore new technology on a class by class basis, and how it affects you.

In fact, with no bells for the teachers and interdisciplinary studies for the students…its beginning to sound like a little bit of educational Heaven on Earth. Please read this article and lets add it to the list of criteria for our classroom design.
